The event featured 20 curated collections presented by final-year students from SIDT’s Bachelor of Design and Advanced Diploma programmes, with interpretations drawn from this year’s overarching theme, ‘Tattva’—the five fundamental elements of nature.

The collections, presented as the students’ capstone projects, reflected a range of Indian, Indo-western, and western silhouettes. Each design group explored sub-themes inspired by earth, water, fire, air, and space, attempting to translate the intangible essence of these elements into tangible, wearable expressions. The garments incorporated advanced techniques in pattern-making, draping, and construction, with students spending extensive hours in the lab to refine and realise their final looks.

Mohini Sharma, founder and chairperson of Mrs. India Inc, attended the show as Chief Guest, addressing the gathering and encouraging students for their dedication and creativity. The Guest of Honour panel included Mr. Rajesh Relekar, AVP – Value Chain Development at Aditya Birla Cellulose; Ms. Mita Gangoly, Associate Director – Campus Experience at Atlas Skilltech University; and key representatives from SASMIRA, including President Mr. Mihir Mehta and Director General Dr. Ashok Tiwari.

The evening’s jury featured notable professionals from the fashion industry, including celebrity stylist Mr. Rehan Shah, fashion designer Ms. Nikhita Tandon, Ms. Madhulika Damani (Design Head, Trent Ltd.), and supermodel Ms. Sucheta Sharma James. The fashion sequences were directed by Rachna Sikka and her team, who brought cohesion and flair to the diverse student presentations. Special performances were given by the Barziz Band and noted singer Ramji Gulati, setting the stage for a dynamic evening.

• Best Surface Ornamentation
• Best Ramp Appeal
• Best Design Collection

The event drew an audience of over 450 attendees, comprising industry professionals, academics, parents, and aspiring design students. The Ellen College of Design recently hosted the "Ellen Design Festival-2025," a spectacular event that proved to be a unique experience for young fashion and interior design enthusiasts, as well as art lovers. This two-day festival showcased a remarkable blend of creativity and innovation, with young and experienced artists, designers, and creative professionals demonstrating their exceptional talent.

Fashion on the Ramp and Trendy Collections:

Fashion design students captivated the audience by showcasing a glimpse of their trendy collections on the ramp. Their diverse designs introduced viewers to new directions in fashion. The designer dresses created and showcased by young designers in the design exhibition also garnered much praise.

A Unique View of Interior Design:

Interior design students also demonstrated their creativity by crafting decorative items based on various art forms, which were the center of attraction at the exhibition. Furthermore, they designed furniture from waste material, presenting a brilliant example of "innovation from scrap," which was appreciated by everyone.

Expert Opinions and Entertainment:

On the first day of the festival, a talk show was organized with fashion designer Rikki Ingrish, in which she discussed the nuances of the fashion field and gave important tips to the youth. In addition, games, art installations, and a captivating performance by the Mumbai-based band Agnikula further boosted the enthusiasm of the young attendees.

Closing Ceremony:

The festival concluded with music and entertainment, where the Mumbai-based artist Rahul's Agnikula band mesmerized everyone with their शानदार (shandaar - magnificent) performance. This two-day festival provided a fantastic platform for young people in the field of design and art to showcase their talent, which will undoubtedly prove to be inspiring for their future.

Sixteen female and nine male models strutted down the runway, bringing to life the unique visions of the student designers. The show highlighted traditional arts like the famous blue pottery of Jaipur and the intricate chikankari embroidery of Lucknow, seamlessly integrated into modern designs.

Among the standout collections was 'Bluekari,' a fusion of blue pottery and chikankari. This collection, designed by Himanshi Sharma, Somya Agarwal, and Sunaina Shekhawat, masterfully blended the timeless elegance of these crafts with the dynamic energy of street style fashion. 'Bluekari' encapsulated the rich cultural heritage of India, telling a story of craftsmanship and tradition reimagined for the contemporary urban dweller. The silhouettes incorporated elements from both crafts, creating ensembles that were both cohesive and visually striking.

The students' creativity shone through other themed sequences such as Zulu Art, Queen’s Luster, Cluster Cosmos, Primordial Princess, The Unsung Warrior, Kokhloma, Threads of Tradition, Decode the Red, Bedlah, and Y2K Bazaar. Each theme showcased a unique blend of colors, textures, and designs, reflecting the students' deep understanding and appreciation of fashion as an art form.

The models' stunning transformations were courtesy of Kajal Bansal and her team from Kajal Makeup Artistry. Their skillful makeovers complemented the students' designs, enhancing the overall impact of the show. Special guests, fashion designers Padmaraj Keshri and Prashant Shivam, graced the event, adding to its prestige. The choreography, orchestrated by Shrikant Sharma and Isha Sharma, ensured a seamless and captivating flow throughout the evening.

The Ellenites Showcase was not just a fashion show but a celebration of creativity and innovation. A pioneer since its inception in 1997, Alee Club Miss and Mr. Teen India have redefined the concept of teenage beauty and talent pageants. The theme of the Alee Club Miss and Mr. Teen India 2023 event was “Talent and Awareness,” focusing on HIV/AIDS. In addition to the conventional pageant segments, the event included an IQ and personality contest. Eminent personalities, including Arbaaz Khan, Varun Badola, Shahbaaz Khan, Ayub Khan, and Stefy Patel, formed the distinguished jury panel alongside Sambita Bose herself.

Maahee Sood from New Delhi was declared the Alee Club Miss Teen India 2023. Priyanshi Bhatia from Indore and Aditi Shekhar from Bangalore were declared as the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.
